That is definitely interesting. I can see a world where AVs don’t overlap with or threaten car/driving culture at all but still are made a target as fresh ammo for the culture wars. I can just as easily see it *not* being an issue and people self-sorting according to preference, and having human-driven cars go the way of the manual transmission: held onto for sentimental reasons by a passionate but always-shrinking minority.
Here’s hoping for the latter. We have enough stupid shit to argue about as is.
